ESTATE UPDATE

Here is the latest & greatest regarding the ongoing restoration of my 1970 Buick Estate Wagon. I replaced the battery which was relatively easy. Initially, the non-working power window issue was thought to be a bad 40 amp circuit breaker. However, the end result after replacing this $20 part is that they still don't work. So, I had an annoyingly smart co-worker delve a bit deeper & not only did he manage to raise the windows up but he also semi-diagnosed the issue as being a faulty wire running between the main window switch on the door panel to this circuit breaker. Which wire? Well that is still yet to be determined.
Another hiccup I recently encountered concerns replacing the windshield. According to the technician from Safelite Auto Glass, there is too much rust in the windshield frame to successfully hold the new windshield. So, again I have another co-worker now grinding/sanding out all of the rust & cleaning up around the side windshield trim for me so I can try the windshield install again. Fingers & eyes crossed....!
In the meantime, here are a few photos of the Estate Wagon's competition back in 1970...big, bigger, & good lord!
