2017 NEW YORK AUTO SHOW

Today's post features highlights from this year's New York International Auto Show....enjoy!

BUICK 
Enclave
  • Base, Essence, Premium, and Avenir trim levels.
  • 302 horsepower V6 w/ a 9-speed automatic. 
  • Front-wheel drive standard; available AWD.
  • Maximum towing capacity is up to 5000 pounds.
  • Longer wheelbase translates into more 3rd-row space
  • Outclasses the MDX, Q7, and QX60 in cargo volume behind the first row.
  • Standard equipment includes a rearview camera, rear park assist, keyless entry and starting, 6 USB ports, hands-free power liftgate, universal home remote, OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and tri-zone automatic climate control. 
  • Frameless touchscreen infotainment standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, GM”s Teen Driver monitoring, and a Rear Seat Reminder feature that reminds the driver to check the back seats when exiting the vehicle.
  • Forward collision alert, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, safety alert seat, following distance indicator, and front park assist are among the available safety features. 
  • Optional 10-speaker Bose Premium sound, power-folding third-row seat, and second-row SmartSlide seats that tilt and slide forward even with an empty child seat installed for easier access to the third row.
  • On sale November 2017.
LINCOLN 
Navigator
  • 450 horsepower Twin Turbo V6 w/ a 10-speed automatic. 
  • 30-way “Perfect Position” front seats with heating, cooling, and massage. 
  • 2nd-row seats have their own audio and climate controls
  • 3rd-row seats have a power-reclining feature.
  • Personal Profile keyfob memory recalls personal climate-control and entertainment settings in addition to seat, pedal, and mirror position memory. 
  • Available 20-speaker Revel Ultima audio offers three listening modes: stereo, audience, and on-stage. 
  • Speed dependent adaptive lighting provides a wider spread of light for better visibility in low-speed residential driving, and a narrower beam of light for less glare off road signs and other distractions in highway driving.
  • Adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera with enhanced park assist, Trailer Backup Assist, and a 12” configurable digital instrument panel with an available head-up display. 
  • Seven selectable drive-mode settings—Normal, Conserve, Excite, Slippery, Deep Conditions, Slow Climb, and Deep Sand
  • Black Label trim level has three interior design themes—Yacht Club, Chalet, or Destination—as well as personal services and exclusive membership privileges.
  • Sync 3 touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard, as is built-in Wi-Fi that allows up to 10 devices at a time to be connected. 
  • There are 6 USB ports, 4 12-volt power outlets, and a 110-volt plug. 
  • Available rear-seat entertainment can stream content wirelessly with an Android device, or by using an SD card, HDMI cable, USB connection, or the SYNC AppLink feature. Owners of a Slingbox TV streaming device can access their TV channels. 
  • Available LincolnWay smartphone app offers remote-access to vehicle location, unlocking, and starting, along with a variety of concierge-type services. 
  • Amazon Alexa services will be available as well.

VOLVO 
XC60
  • Volvo’s new corporate styling elements like “Thor’s Hammer” headlights, more power and new features. 
  • T8 Twin plug-in hybrid = Turbo and supercharged 4-cylinder front wheel driven with an electric motor driving the rear wheels to produce a combined 400 horsepower. 
  • T6 = same engine but w/ 316 horsepower
  • T5 = Turbo 4-cylinder w/ 250 horsepower.
  • New Steer Assist is teamed with Oncoming Lane Mitigation and Blind Spot Indication to help steer away from impeding impacts. 
  • Optional Pilot Assist, a semi-autonomous driver assistance takes care of steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 80 mph
MERCEDES-BENZ 
E-Class Cabriolet
  • Longer, wider, and w/ a longer wheelbase than previous editions, improving rear-seat space. 
  • Fully automatic soft top in dark brown, dark blue, red, or black, and features sophisticated insulation that reduces wind and driving noise at highway speed
  • Heated windshield wipers, AIRCAP and AIRSCARF.
  • U.S. sales will begin November 2017
MERCEDES-AMG 
GLC63 / E63
  • GLC 63 and GLC 63 Coupe = Twin turbo V8 w/ 470 horsepower
  • 9-speed automatic and 4Matic all-wheel drive; 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. 
  • GLC 63 Coupe S has same motor but w/ 505 horsepower and 0-60 in 3.7 seconds.
  • E 63 S wagon has same motor but w/ 605-horsepower
  • 4Matic all-wheel drive; 0-60 in 3.4 seconds
PORSCHE 
911 GTS / GT3
  • Turbo boxer 6-cylinder producing 450 horsepower with 7-speed manual or 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automated manual.
  • Only RWD model is the Carrera GTS. All others come with AWD including the Carrera 4 GTS Coupe and Cabriolet and the Targa 4 GTS.
  • GTS models will be between $121,000 and $141,000 when they arrive in dealerships this month.
  • $144,000 911 GT3 is RWD w/ a boxer 6-cylinder producing 500 horsepower with either manual or automatic
  • 911 GT3 goes on sale November 2017.
Panamera Sport Turismo
  • More practical version of the Panamera standard with AWD & the same engines. 
  • $97,000 Panamera 4 Sport Turismo = 330-horsepower Turbo V6. 
  • $110,000 Panamera 4S Sport Turismo = 440 horsepower twin-turbo V6. 
  • $105,000 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo
  • $155,000 Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo = 550-horsepower twin-turbo V8.
  • Goes on sale November 2017
Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid
  • Supplements electric power with a Turbo V8 for a total of 680 horsepower
  • 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.
  • A plug-in hybrid with 30 miles of all-electric range from its lithium-ion battery. It not only stands as the most powerful Panamera ever offered, it also marks the first time a hybrid has been the flagship model of the line
  • Available in “regular” hatchback form ($186,000) and Executive ($196,000)
  • Hits showrooms in December 2017.
HONDA 
Clarity
  • EV version of the Clarity will be a model year 2017
  • 160-horsepower 4-cylinder + 25.5-kilowatt battery = 80-mile range. 
  • Fully recharged in 3 hours on a Level 2 charger
  • 80-percent charge in 30 minutes on a Level 3 charger. 
  • Clarity Electric will launch in September 2017 in CA and OR and will be for lease only.
  • Plug-In version of the Clarity will be a model year 2018
  • 180 horsepower 4-cylinder + electric motor + 17-kWh battery
  • All-electric range of 42 miles
  • Plug-in Hybrid goes on sale in November 2017
ACURA 
TLX
  • New grille adopts the “diamond pentagon” look introduced on the MDX. It’s joined by revised front fascia, headlights, and wheels.
  • 4-cylinder and V6 versions, the latter offering AWD in addition to FWD
  • Optional V6 Technology Package features a power driver-seat extension. 
  • Advance Package includes a Surround-View camera, wireless charging, heated steering wheel and rear seats, and a body-color rear spoiler.
  • New V6 A-Spec trim level with front- or AWD includes an exclusive front fascia, round LED fog lights, side sills, round dual exhaust outlets, black rear spoiler, and dark-finished 19" wheels. 
  • Above trim level also gets brushed aluminum interior trim, red or black leather with Alcantara seat and door inserts, sport steering wheel, wider tires and sport suspension.
HYUNDAI 
Sonata
  • New larger “cascading” grille, LED daytime running lights, available adaptive LED headlights, and slimmer taillights.
  • 245-hp Turbo 4-cylinder w/ 8-speed automatic
  • Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are standard
  • New Lane Departure Warning with an updated Lane Keep Assist. 
  • New center stack and instrument panel + rear seat USB port
  • Blue Link connectivity now has Amazon Echo.
SUBARU 
Crosstrek
  • Boxer 4-cylinder w/ 152 horsepower. 
  • Base and Premium come with a 6-speed manual, while Limited comes with a CVT 
  • X-Mode provides for better wheel control on steep inclines and slippery surfaces.
  • Standard features include a 6.5” touchscreen, rearview camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 17" alloy wheels, and roof rails. 
  • Available forward collision warning and mitigation, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot and rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic braking, adaptive headlights, automatic high beams, and individual tire-pressure readouts. Plus 6-way power driver seat and harman/kardon premium audio. 
  • Connected Service packages add emergency and roadside assistance, collision notification, maintenance notifications, diagnostic alerts, stolen vehicle recovery, and remote services such as lock/unlock and vehicle locator.
  • Goes on sale in June 2017.
 Outback 
  • A wider lower-grille opening and revised bumper and fascia.
  • Equipment additions extend to adaptive headlights with automatic high beams, a paddle-shifted manual mode for the CVT, and X-Mode that adjusts transmission ratio and activates Hill Descent Control in off-road situations. 
  • Available individual tire-pressure readouts and vehicle guidelines for the standard rearview camera.
  • Goes on sale in June.
Ascent Concept
  • 2nd-row captain’s chairs and a 3-place bench seat in the 3rd row
  • Optional 2nd-row bench seat will increase seating capacity to 8
  • All-new turbo Boxer motor
  • Built in Lafayette, Indiana only for the North American market
  • Expected to arrive at dealerships in February 2018.
